DALAYA Espace et Objet is a studio where design, art and craftsmanship come together to shape a distinctive contemporary aesthetic.

Founded in 2019 by twin sisters Dounia and Yasmine Lahlou, DALAYA Espace et Objet explores the way objects accompany our lives, shape our interiors and reveal how we inhabit the world. Each piece emerges from an attentive observation of everyday gestures, encountered cultures and the spaces we move through. Every creation is conceived as a fragment of a wider universe: an object to live with, imbued with meaning, designed to evolve over time and engage in dialogue with those around it. Our aesthetic is defined by sculptural lines, sensitive volumes, noble materials and a strong presence; a recognisable language that is both dense and poetic.

DALAYA Espace et Objet pieces are produced in small series, limited editions or bespoke commissions. They take shape in specialised workshops in France, Italy and Portugal, alongside craftspeople whose technical expertise meets the demands of our creative language. Presented internationally through galleries, boutiques, private residences and hospitality projects, our creations travel and find their place among those drawn to emotional and contemporary design.

THE FOUNDERS

Dounia Lahlou — Creative Director & Designer

The instinctive creator, architect of emotion.

A graduate of École Camondo – Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Dounia develops an artistic language in which light, material and curves become sculpted emotions. Guided by a dual imagination, the West and its elegance, the East and its incandescent colours; she seeks to capture what is fleeting: the shadow of a sensation, the echo of a presence. Between the rigour of the line and the freedom of instinct, her work gives shape to forms that are taut, vibrant and suspended between softness and intensity. Rooted in the exacting standards of exceptional French workshops, her practice is driven by precision in every detail. Through her pieces, she creates spaces of suspension and reverie, where matter suddenly seems to breathe.

Yasmine Lahlou — Operations & Development Director

The intuitive strategist, architect of growth.

Educated in international business at INSEEC Paris, Yasmine builds the pathways that allow DALAYA Espace et Objet’s creations to exist in the world. She oversees production, European workshops, collaborations, galleries, logistics and commercial relationships. With a refined understanding of brands, markets and creative networks, she gives structure to the studio’s development, supporting its international growth with coherence, ambition and fluidity. She transforms an idea into a trajectory, a prototype into a collection, and a creative universe into an international presence. Together, Dounia and Yasmine are building a house where creation becomes a territory, and every object feels inevitable.
